Becoming the third Auburn player off the board at the NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected Colby Wooden in the fourth round with the 116th overall pick Sunday afternoon.
The 6-foot-4, 273-pound defensive end is one of many notable Auburn football alumni to be drafted by the NFL. Wooden follows in the footsteps of Reggie Torbor, Quentin Groves, Nick Fairley, Corey Lemonier, Marlon Davidson, Derrick Brown and others as defensive linemen selected in the draft.
The Lawrenceville, Georgia, native committed to Auburn as a 4-star recruit in the 2019 class and proceeded to play four years at the Plains — starting in three.
During his college career, Wooden recorded 152 total tackles — 91 solo tackles and 61 assisted tackles — and 15 sacks for a loss of 93 yards in 40 games.
In his final season, Wooden had 45 total tackles — 36 solo tackles and nine assisted tackles — with six sacks for a loss of 48 yards in 12 games and earned an invite to the NFL Draft Combine.
Wooden was named the SEC defensive lineman of the week three times during his time as a Tiger and was a Pro Football Focus all-SEC honorable mention his junior year.
Wooden joins former Auburn safety Rudy Ford as the only two Tigers on the Packers roster.
Auburn edge defender Derick Hall was selected in the second round to the Seattle Seahawks Friday night and Auburn running back Tank Bigsby heard his name called in the third round to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
