Even though there are still boundless “what-if’s” left this season, we feel confident in the legacy of the 2024-2025 men’s basketball team.
They have been ranked No. 1 in the AP poll longer than any other team this season. They have more Quad One wins than any other team this season. They clinched the SEC Regular Season Championship in a historically competitive year. This team has shattered records and astonished the nation.
The Plainsman is a student magazine, on student schedules. We have to send this edition to the printer on March 7, 2025, before seeing how the rest of the season plays out. Despite this, we feel it is in the best interest of this school and community to celebrate this team and their historic season.
That’s why we’ve decided to design a tribute to the legendary Sports Illustrated covers, celebrating all the times Auburn men’s basketball has been No. 1. No matter what Madness happens this March, War Damn Eagle and War Damn Plainsman.
