Mallory Holland was crowned the Auburn Miss Homecoming 2025 this afternoon on Saturday, Sept. 13. Her victory was announced during halftime of the homecoming game matchup against the University of South Alabama.

Holland’s win marked the end of the campaigns for the 2025 Miss Homecoming race, in which Auburn students had the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidate. Holland was one of five candidates up for Miss Homecoming this year, alongside Kaylee Laplante, Ashley May, Abby Grace Stevens and Julia Wright.

At the beginning of halftime, the five candidates were escorted onto Pat Dye Field by their fathers. Holland was escorted by her father, John Holland, prior to her crowning as Auburn Miss Homecoming 2025.

The candidates were introduced to over 80,000 Auburn Family members, with the announcer providing details on their specific accomplishments and involvement as Auburn students. As each candidate was introduced, the members of their nominating organization and other supporters cheered and waved shakers excitedly.

After introductions were concluded, the announcer made the declaration the audience members was waiting for: "The 2025 Auburn University Miss Homecoming is Mallory Holland."

The announcement of Holland’s crowning as Miss Homecoming was met with resounding celebration from Auburn fans and the student body. Holland was presented with a traditional bouquet of roses by Auburn University President Christopher B. Roberts and the silver homecoming bowl by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey.

Auburn’s Miss Homecoming announcement is a historic tradition that honors student leadership, service and school spirit. The crowning has long served as the highlight of the week’s homecoming festivities and is a moment of pride for Auburn’s campus and community. Holland will join a proud lineage of Miss Homecoming winners who have embodied the core values of the University and proudly represented Auburn’s best.

Holland’s crowning marked the conclusion of Miss Homecoming events held this week at Auburn. Festivities began on Tuesday with Miss Homecoming Kickoff at Cater Hall, where candidates officially released their platforms for their upcoming campaigns. During the week, candidates had the opportunity to meet with students on the Haley Concourse to promote their unique platforms and share their vision for Auburn. Student voting on Miss Homecoming would last from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, which was the last day of the campaigns.

This past week, Holland’s campaign “Home with Holland” focused on the importance of helping students build a sense of home and community at Auburn. As a senior in industrial systems and engineering who grew up in Auburn, Holland's win seemed both poignant and full circle.

The announcement of Holland’s victory marks the ending of this year’s Miss Homecoming events. To learn more about other homecoming festivities, visit the Auburn University website.

Holland, the 2025 Miss Homecoming winner, is also the first Miss Homecoming to be elected through ranked-choice voting, which SGA voted to pass on Oct. 14, 2024. With the new voting system, a candidate will win if they have 50% of the first-choice votes. If no candidate has more than 50%, the candidate with the fewest first-choice votes is eliminated. Voters who picked that candidate as their first choice will have their votes reallocated to their second-choice candidate. This process repeats until one candidate has the majority, which is more than 50% of the vote.

The Auburn Plainsman will provide details on votes allotted to each candidate on Monday, Sept. 15 when the Student Government Association releases the results.
