Identities and relationships: The Circle publishes fall 2025 issue

On Nov. 17, The Auburn Circle, Auburn University’s literary and art magazine, published its new semesterly issue for fall 2025. The submissions selected for print each semester follow a unique theme and tell a narrative through their organization. This issue focuses on identities and relationships of life, and it is currently available to students.

Auburn's 1856 receives Michelin Guide recommendation

Auburn University’s 1856 – Culinary Residence, housed in the Tony & Libba Rane Culinary Science Center, became the first restaurant in Auburn and first teaching restaurant in the United States to receive the prestigious distinction of a Michelin recommendation. The restaurant was one of 15 restaurants across Alabama to receive honors in the inaugural Michelin Guide American South selection.

Auburn's 37th Annual Pumpkin Carve takes place at Dudley Hall

On Friday, Oct. 31, the 37th annual Pumpkin Carve, an Auburn tradition since the 80s, took place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. outside of Dudley Hall. The Halloween event is hosted by Auburn’s chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), and is open to all students, faculty and community members for a day of activities and fun, including the namesake pumpkin carving contest.

In memoriam: Dr. Troy Best

Troy L. Best, an emeritus professor for Auburn University’s Department of Biological Sciences, passed away at his home in Fort Sumner, New Mexico on Sept. 9, 2025. Dr. Best, 80, was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, educator and friend.

Auburn's zero-waste Sustainability Picnic returns for 2025

On Wednesday, Aug. 27 at the Davis Arboretum, Auburn University hosted the 2025 edition of the Sustainability Picnic, with the mission of connecting students to different resources, academic opportunities and student groups working in the realm of sustainability. The annual zero-waste event featured free vegetarian food samples, live music and a variety of university organizations for attendees to connect with.
