Auburn softball delivered an impressive weekend performance, winning three games over Chipola, Northwest Florida State, and Georgia Southern. Over the series, the Tigers had a combined 48 runs, holding their opponents to a total of three, showcasing their depth both in offense and the pitching staff.

Head coach Chris Malveaux spoke on the team’s improvements coming out of the weekend, saying, “As we're going through the fall, we're starting to see how we react to things. We knew today that we were going to see an increase in competition,” and “We're learning a lot about this team's emotional stability. We still have things to clean up. We know we're going to get there because of the talent and emotional maturity of this team. They're not freaking out when things aren't where they should be. They want to know how to adjust and fix things. That's a big thing.”

Auburn vs Chipola

The Tigers started off the weekend on Friday with a 21-0 victory over Chipola. The win was powered by Ma’Nia Womack’s two-homer, four-RBI performance. Womack’s homers came in the ninth and tenth innings, helping Auburn pile on late runs to secure the shutout.

Auburn’s offense came alive in the ninth inning with 11 runs and four more in the tenth. These runs were highlighted by homers from Haven Roebuck, Ava Ratliff, and Womack. Destiny Rodriguez tripled and doubled in two runs, while Thalia Martin, Kylie Brockman, and Alyssa Hastings all contributed multiple hits.

Ella Harrison earned the win after tossing three hitless innings with six strikeouts as part of a combined shutout effort from five Auburn pitchers. The pitching staff collected 11 total strikeouts and allowed only a handful of baserunners. Auburn finished with 20 hits, eight walks, and eight stolen bases in a well-rounded effort.

Auburn vs Northwest Florida State

The Tigers kept their bats hot in Sunday’s doubleheader opener, surging past Northwest Florida State 13-2. Womack sparked the offense early, launching a three-run homer in the first inning and driving in three runs overall. Auburn jumped ahead early, scoring five runs in the first and never checking up.

Home runs by McKaela Walker and Hastings in the second inning extended the lead, while Kyla Stroud added a three-run shot in the fourth. Ratliff also homered in the fifth to round off a consistent offensive effort by the team.

Malayna Tamborra earned the win with 2.1 innings pitched, only allowing one run. Charley Butler closed the game with 2.1 scoreless innings in relief. Auburn finished with 15 hits, led by Ratliff, Hastings, AnnaLea Adams, Rodriguez, and Womack, who each recorded two. The Tigers were aggressive on the basepaths, stealing six bases throughout the contest.

Auburn vs Georgia Southern

Auburn finished off the weekend with another offensive feat, defeating Georgia Southern 14-1, rallying behind a six-RBI display from Alyssa Hastings. The senior infielder lifted a grand slam in the third inning and added a two-run single in the sixth as the Tigers piled on nine runs.

Roebuck, Georgia Lessmann, Stroud, Martin, and Adams all drove in runs during the sixth-inning surge, with Roebuck, Hastings, and Adams each collecting two hits on the day.

Ella Harrison earned her second win of the weekend, striking out six batters over 4.1 innings and allowing just one run. Auburn’s pitching staff combined for a shutout through the first five innings and held Georgia Southern to four hits.

The Tigers’ three-game sweep underscored their offensive and pitching depth, outscoring opponents 48-3 while collecting 47 hits and 17 stolen bases. With key contributions from Womack, Hastings, and Ratliff, Auburn proved its lineup can generate runs from top to bottom, setting a dominant tone for the rest of the fall schedule.
