Auburn junior Josiah Gilbert earned his second trophy of the fall with a low-medalist performance at the Clerico, leading the No. 16 Tigers to their first team title of the season with an 8-over showing at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
“Proud of the response from the guys this week,” said head coach Nick Clinard. “This was an extremely challenging course with some adverse conditions, and they managed it well. It’s a great feeling to end the fall with some hardware. We’ll take this momentum into the offseason and come back ready to hopefully earn some more hardware in the spring.”
The Tigers won the Clerico by six strokes. The reigning national champions, No. 17 Oklahoma State, finished at 14-over.
Gilbert’s victory came on rounds of 72, 64 and 71. He led the field in birdies with 14, six of which came during his bogey-free middle round. It was the Millbrook, Alabama, native’s third career win and his second this fall, following his earlier victory at the Honors Course Invitational.
Auburn had an impressive showing from its starting five, with each man finishing 19th or better in the 63-man field.
Jackson Koivun, ranked No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, earned his second consecutive top-10 finish with a fifth-place showing at 3-over. Koivun shot rounds of 71, 70, and 72. His 12 birdies ranked second overall, behind teammate Gilbert.
Sophomore Billy Davis wrapped up the fall season tied for seventh place after shooting rounds of 69, 72, and 73 for a 4-over finish. Four shots behind Davis was freshman Jake Albert, who went 68-71-70 to finish tied for 16th. One stroke back was junior Cayden Pope, who carded rounds of 72, 72, and 75 to tie for 19th.
Auburn golf will take the winter off before kicking off its spring season Feb. 5-7, 2026, at the Amer Ari Invitational at Mauna Lani Golf Club in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
