The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection to an investigation surrounding the sexual abuse of a child under 12 years old and possession of child pornography.
On Jan. 29, at 1:37 p.m., an employee at the Lee County Department of Human Resources (DHR) filed a report with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office regarding possible sexual abuse of a child. The abuse was suspected to take place at the 1300 block of Lee Road 1 in the Loachapoka community of Lee County.
As investigations took place, evidence was discovered that supported the report to DHR.
On Feb. 20, authorities arrested and charged Quintevas Jacquez Phillips, 33, from Notasulga on one count of sexual abuse of a child less than 12, seven counts of production of pornography with minors, seven counts of possession of child pornography and one count of sodomy first degree.
Phillips is currently being held at the Lee County Detention Center without bond.
