In 2019, one-in-four teens in the U.S. missed school due to a lack of access to period supplies. In the same year, 46% of female students in public grades 7-12 attended Title I eligible schools. A 2019 survey of 693 women who attended U.S. high schools found that nearly 24% were forced to leave school early due to a lack of access to feminine hygiene products, and nearly 13% reported that they missed school when they were menstruating and couldn’t access supplies.

There are nearly 8 billion people living on planet earth, and 800 million of those people menstruate by omission every month. Those 800 million menstruating individuals inadvertently require suitable access to menstrual products.

The Kreher Preserve and Nature Center is located ten minutes from main campus and offers a variety of opportunities for Auburn students and community members. First donated to Auburn University in 1993, the Louise Kreher Forest Ecology Preserve, was opened to the community in 2008 and renamed as the KPNC in 2015.

Auburn graduate, Paulina Arroyo, is releasing her first graphic novel, “Goin’ to the Party,” this February. With a degree in graphic design, she displays her work through her illustrations within her novel to tell the story of 18-year-old, Paloma Alfaro.

The City Council postponed its decision to vote on the redistricting plan again with the absence of Mayor Ron Anders and Mayor Pro Tem Beth Witten. The ordinance was postponed to a special called meeting on Jan. 25 to ensure that the City can publish changes in time for Feb. 22.
