An Auburn University faculty member has died from COVID-19 complications, according to Fred Kam, medical director for the Auburn University Medical Clinic.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, students who often spent multiple nights a week playing Dungeons and Dragons on campus or in each other's homes are having to adapt the game to an online format.

Joey Hoke, senior in mechanical engineering, said engineering students “would be able to do nothing without it,” referring to the software. Some students need software that was already hard to use even before the University transitioned to remote instruction.
“Using home sewing machines is more tedious than the industrial grade ones that the University provides,” said Lucile Duncan, senior in apparel design. “The process of brainstorming without being able to meet with fellow classmates is definitely harder, too.”
Jarious Avery, a freshman majoring in biomedical sciences, is one of hundreds of first-generation college students who are returning home after experiencing a sliver of college life. The coronavirus forced Auburn University to close its doors, and now Avery is stuck in his home.
Fees for student services during the summer 2020 semester will be waived because of financial challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the University said.
Online labs use more resources than in-person labs, and professors and graduate teaching assistants have had to adapt to this quickly during the transition to online delivery.
The move to online classes hasn’t been so cut and dry for programs like studio art, where students thrive off one another’s feedback and professors’ in-person guidance.
The Graduate Record Examinations and the Graduate Management Admission Test will not be required for most programs over the next three semesters.
All on-campus Camp War Eagle sessions will be transitioning online, according to an email sent by the First Year Experience Office to incoming freshmen.
Auburn University will receive more than $15.6 million in federal stimulus aid, and a minimum of $7.8 million is going toward emergency financial aid and grants for students.
This includes camps that were scheduled for the duration of the cancellation, according to the University.
“Essentially, we haven’t been able to fly,” said Bill Hutto, head of Auburn’s aviation department and the director of the Auburn University Regional Airport.
Five students and four Auburn University employees have tested positive for COVID-19, and of those, one student and two employees have been hospitalized, according to Fred Kam, medical director for the Auburn University Medical Clinic.
All future move-out weekends have been put on hold until a "later date," and residents will not be able to visit campus to carry out the process.

“It is a lot of work, and the thing that I enjoy most about it is that I get to learn so much and it’s actually real stuff,” said Blair Chenault, CEO of Flashtract.
SGA Senate is not ruling out the possibility of holding meetings via Zoom, according to Kassen. As of right now, however, Senate will be sticking with the current method of operation by sending out weekly updates.
