'Team of firsts' ends record-breaking season run

Following up a nail-biting win over UCLA Saturday night, May 30, the Tigers lost their chances of advancing in the Women’s College World Series against Florida, losing 3-2 Sunday afternoon, May 31. Regardless of this loss, the team has made it a season to remember, claiming two All-Americans in Kasey Cooper and Emily Carosone on top of finishing in fifth for the most executed double plays (41) on defense and ranking within the top ten, eventually climbing to No.

Cooper, Carosone earn All-American status

The Tigers are off to a good start in Oklahoma City as Kasey Cooper and Emily Carosone were welcomed with All-American recognition Wednesday afternoon, May 27. The Tigers were two of six players who received the honor alongside UCLA’s Ally Carda and Alexis Bennett, Oklahoma’s Lauren Chamberlain and Oregon’s Cheridan Hawkins. Cooper said it was an honor to be sitting next to the five other All-Americans. “For me I think it’s cool because I watched Oklahoma and Alabama play in the championship sitting at home in high school.” Cooper said.

Tigers selected as fourth seed, will host NCAA Regional
