Baseball shows promise in summer league

At the close of the 2015-2016 season, 14 Tigers set out to compete in summer collegiate baseball leagues around the country. Following the draft that number thinned to 11, most of them rising sophomores, that played in Ohio, Wisconsin, California, Florida and more.

Top 25 Auburn soccer team to face daunting schedule in 2016

Coming off last year’s 16-6-1 record, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll ranked the Auburn Tigers at No. 12 in its preseason top 25. The Tigers successful 2015 season included their first Sweet 16 appearance to reach the NCAA Tournament for the 13th time since 2000. Following a 2-0 loss to Florida State in the Sweet 16, head coach Karen Hoppa said, "It was a special year.

Former Tiger signs $1 million professional contract

Former Auburn forward Kenny Gabriel has agreed to a one-year $1 million contract with the PBC Lokomotiv Kuban, a Russian professional basketball team in the VTB United League and Euroleague. Gabriel played in this year’s NBA Summer League with the Cleveland Cavaliers in Las Vegas and the Miami Heat in Orlando.

Jovon Robinson dismissed from team

Auburn running back Jovon Robinson was absent from the team's first practice of fall camp and has been dismissed from the program, head coach Gus Malzahn announced Wednesday. Robinson "did not meet my standards" according to Malzahn.

Bass fishing team headed to nationals

The Auburn University Bass Fishing Team is sending three teams to Carhartt College Bass Nationals to compete with 90 other teams around the U.S., according to the team's Facebook page and Track 'Em Tigers.

Cooper voted Elite 90 Fan Favorite

Auburn softball standout Kasey Cooper was voted as the winner of the NCAA Elite 90 Fan Favorite contest, the association announced Thursday. The All-American infielder dominated the top portion throughout the competition and collected 38 percent of the final votes in the last round.

Cooper, Team USA earn silver in World Cup

Auburn junior third baseman Kasey Cooper and Team USA earned the silver medal at the World Cup of Softball in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Sunday. Cooper and Team USA went 5-1 in the tournament, including winning the opening five games before falling to Japan in the final game, 2-1. Cooper reached base in the top of the seventh after being hit by a pitch and represented the go-ahead run, but Japan retired the next two batters to end the contest.
