Head coach Gene Chizik beat out six other finalists to win the Paul "Bear" Bryant College Coach of the Year Award Tuesday night in Houston.
"I'm extremely appreciative to win this prestigious award," Chizik said.
"As a football coach, when you can have your name associated with an individual that's done so much for the sport, it's a blessing."
Chizik is the third Auburn coach to win the award, joining Tommy Tuberville (2004) and Terry Bowden (1993).
