Most Stylish Campus competition

Stylitics and Her Campus are hosting a contest to find the most stylish college campus and students in the United States.

Auburn students can participate by creating a style profile on Stylitics.com and encourage other students to do the same. Each profile created will earn 10 points for Auburn. Points can also be earned by getting "follows" for each profile, "likes" for profile pictures and sharing profiles via Facebook or Twitter. Each follow is worth five points, each profile picture like is worth three points and each share on Facebook or Twitter is worth two points.

Chelsea Madkins, one of the website's ambassadors and Auburn student, said the contest is to find the campus with the most style.

"Everyone has their own unique style," Madkins said. "It's like a finger print. Stylitics wants people to showcase that and share it with not only others on campus, but people on the web. The campaign is about celebrating style in all forms and fashion."

Madkins said in addition to winning great prizes, the contest is also great publicity for Auburn.

"Students win individually by having the most points," she said. "The top 50 most stylish students win a ton of great prizes from companies like Lucky Brand and Marc Jacobs and will be featured in an article about the competition."

Madkins said Auburn students should take advantage of the opportunity to brand themselves and be a part of a new, cutting-edge company.

"For students in marketing, public relations or apparel merchandising I think it's especially great," she said. "The style profiles can be another way for you to show future employers that you are an individual not just a cookie cutter applicant."

She said even though Stylitics is a relatively new company, it has already caught the attention of Oprah, Vogue and the Wall Street Journal.

She also said Stylitics is "genuinely interested in what users have to say" and in "giving back to the people that support them."

"The company uses the information gained to issue trend reports specific to our area," she said. "Auburn has the chance to really be on the cutting edge of a growing trend and I think it's an opportunity the students should take advantage of."

Stylitics allows users to create virtual closets, track purchases and stay organized.

Madkins said that Stylitics is not just about "superficial things."

"I think Stylitics is a fun way to showcase individual style and personality," she said. "Areas like 'My Stylish Places' allow users to share pictures of things that make them feel excited and instill a sense of wonder."

The competition began on April 16, and the top five schools will be announced on May 10 with the overall winner being announced May 15.
