Bo Jackson defeats Michael Jordan

Auburn's own Bo Jackson defeated Michael Jordan in ESPN's greatest athlete competition decided by the network's Sports Science team and voting from fans.

Jackson will now move into the final against either Jim Brown or Jackie Robinson.

A two sport athlete and the first professional player to all-star in both the NFL and MLB, Jackson's win was attributed to his "incredible power and lightning speed."

Jackson's competitors in the final round either Brown or Robinson, both excelled in multiple sports before becoming famous in football and baseball.

Jackson defeated Jordan by a close 51-to-49 percent margin in the 16 athlete competition.

Jordan is one of the most popular athletes of all time and the win by Jackson was considered an upset by many.

The final two athletes will be announced on ESPN's SportsCenter on Saturday, March 2.
