Athletic director Jay Jacobs announced Tuesday, May 14 former Auburn baseball player Tim Hudson and his wife Kim have donated $1 million toward the renovation of the baseball team's clubhouse.
The announcement came during Jacobs' appearance at the Auburn Chamber of Commerce saying the clubhouse "hasn't been touched in 10 years" even though it's "the most used place in the facility."
Currently a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, Hudson played two impressive seasons at Auburn before being drafted by the Oakland A's in 1999. His 14 years in the majors has earned him nearly $100 million and Hudson and his family remain close to the Auburn family.
Construction on the new clubhouse will begin during the offseason and is a part of the master plan for the upgrade of Plainsman Park.
The Tigers last home series is Friday, May 17 against Arkansas at 6 p.m.
