The Lutzenkirchen family has started a fundraiser to go towards the goal of setting up a foundation in honor of the late Philip Lutzenkirchen.
Lutzenkirchen, a former tight end at Auburn, passed away on Sunday, June 29, after a car he was riding in lost control and wrecked just outside of LaGrange, Georgia.
Since his death, memorials have been held in both Auburn and at Lassiter High School, where Philip starred for the Trojans.
On the fundraiser website, his family writes, "As a family, we are working through the process of creating a foundation to honor our brother and son. Philip was passionate about many different causes and charities. Through every step of his life he lived in love. In his eyes, love and love's impact was his most important gift."
Donations can be made by visiting the YouCaring.com website the family has created by clicking here.
Donations can also be made at any Bank of America branch by walking in and saying you would like to make a donation for Lutzie 43 Trust.
Checks are also accepted and are to be made out to "Lutzie 43" and mailed to 2840 Landing Way, Marietta, Georgia 30066.
