Tiger greats to be honored Saturday during season opener

Former Auburn football players Philip Lutzenkirchen and David Langner will be honored prior to this Saturday's kickoff against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The former Tigers will be remembered during a moment of silence that has become a tradition formed through the A-Day spring games.
Coach Malzahn will honor Lutzenkirchen by wearing a special bracelet to remember his former player, and said that players on the current roster will be honoring Lutzenkirchen in their own special way.
Lutzenkirchen was an extremely productive player at the tight end position during his four years on the plains.
He currently holds the school records for touchdown receptions by a tight end (14), single season touchdowns by a tight end (7), and his 59 catches for 628 receiving yards are second in school history.
"Punt Bama Punt" star David Langner played the game of his life by recovering two blocked punts by Bill Newton and returning both for Auburn's only touchdowns against Alabama in the 1972 Iron Bowl.
Langner also intercepted a pass in the games final minutes to seal victory for the then 9th ranked Tigers, completing one of the most miraculous comebacks in college football history.
Langner passed away on April 26 in Tuscaloosa after a long battle with cancer.
