The man charged with murder of Auburn football player Jakell Mitchell was transferred to the Tallapoosa County Jail after posting bond on Dec. 18.
Markale Hart, 22, of Camp Hill posted a $500,000 bond from the Lee County Jail and immediately taken into custody by the Tallapoosa Sheriff's Department for a probation violation, according to Capt. Van Jackson of the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
Hart was charged with the murder of Mitchell at the Tiger Lodge apartment complex on Dec. 14.
Mitchell was remembered at a public candle light vigil in Opelika on Dec. 15.
Jackson said Hart would stay at the Tallapoosa County Jail until a revocation hearing set in early January. A judge will determine if Hart violated the terms of his probation at the hearing.
Hart was convicted of a burglary in Tallapoosa County in 2012.
According to court documents, a preliminary hearing will be held on Jan. 13 to determine if there is enough evidence to send the Hart's murder charge to a grand jury.
