The women’s basketball team put forth a ferocious defensive effort Sunday, finally ending their 14-game winning streak by way of a 44-26 victory over Georgia in Athens.
Sophomore Brandy Montgomery led scorers on the day with 21, while on the other end, the Tiger defense forced the Bulldogs into 27 turnovers.
The Tigers shot 39.2 percent from the field, and held the Bulldogs to 24.4 percent.
The win gives the Tigers their first in Southeastern Conference play, giving them a 1-13 mark with a 10-17 record overall.
Next up for the Tigers is a matchup in Nashville, Tenn., with the Vanderbilt Commodores. The game will tip at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on FSN.
