Softball rises to No. 8 in NFCA rankings

Softball

After this weekend’s sweep of Kentucky, Auburn has jumped from the ninth spot on the NFCA rankings to No. 8.

The Tigers stand with a strong 32-2 record, including 20 wins at home, five on the road and seven on a neutral field.

Auburn currently also claims the No. 4 spot in the NCAA Women’s Softball RPI with a spotless record in SEC play, 6-0.

These wins are credited to the strength of the Auburn offense, including the likes of Jade Rhodes, who scored her fourteenth season homerun in Louisville this weekend.

Not to mention breaking the record for the most hom eruns in a single game against Ole Miss.

Junior Emily Carosone is additionally hard to ignore, tied up with Rhodes at 14 home runs, pushing the team’s number of homers up to 67 in just this season alone.

Auburn hopes to continue the climb up the rankings as they face Florida State on the road Wednesday afternoon, March 25 at 4 p.m.
