Auburn softball swept the competition with their performances in the Judi Garman classic in Fullerton, California, up until Cal State stepped up to the plate. Currently standing in the series, 3-1, with their victory over Long Beach State and Pacific on Thursday, the Tigers then added a win against No.13 Arizona Friday night, but the winning streak was broken in Friday night's second game.

With the team’s recent advancement to No. 14 in the rankings, their game against Arizona proved easy for the Tigers, dominating the Wildcats 20-2, allowing the run-rule to call the game in the top of the fifth. This win also constitutes the largest lead against a ranked team in the program’s history.

The Tigers dominated on offense, including three single-base hits from Tiffany Howard, as well as another home run for Kasey Cooper, bringing in three runners.
To round out the ending, McKenzie Kilpatrick nailed a pitch over the fence in the top of the fifth to bring in three more runners.
In all, the team consistently scored at least three runs in each inning, with six being the highest in the second.
Auburn then battled the host of the tournament, Cal State, Fullerton shortly after in a late night match.
Compared to the earlier game Friday, the Tigers struggled to put points on the board until the second inning with Tiffany Howard's single bringing in Morgan Estell.
The team then faced three straight scoreless innings, allowing two RBI's from the Titans on offense.
Down 3-1, Cal State walked four straight runners, bringing in Carlee Wallace for the second run of the game.
Emily Carosone's base hit, along with Kasey Cooper's weren't enough to bring in another run in the seventh as the Titans took the game, 3-2.
The Tigers will return to action tomorrow afternoon for their fifth game of the series in Fullerton against Arizona State at 10 p.m.
