Phoenix Mercury forward DeWanna Bonner has been named the WNBA Player of the Week for her performance in the first week of the WNBA season.

Bonner, who was selected fifth overall in the 2009 WNBA Draft, averaged 19.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals over the Mercury’s first four games.

The 6-foot-4-inch forward currently leads the Western Conference in scoring and is tied for 10th in the league in steals.

The former SEC Player of the Year is also averaging 34.8 minutes per game, which ranks second in the WNBA.
