Two Auburn golfers and an Auburn gymnast were named All-Americans on Thursday, June 11.
Shortly after freshman men’s golfer Ben Shlottman was named an All-American, women’s golfer Sophia Schubert and gymnast Megan Walker followed.
Schubert is a freshman from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and is the 17th All-American in the history of the women’s golf program.
She led the women's team with a stroke average of 73.54 and had two rounds of 65 this season, which tied for the second-lowest round in school history.
Walker was named a Capital One Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Walker graduated in three years with a degree in Fitness, Conditioning and Performance in August 2014 and will graduate in Spring 2016 with a marketing degree.
“I am excited and feel honored to be named to the Capital One Academic All-America first-team,” Walker said.“I have been overwhelmed with the amount of support I have received from friends, family and fans. I wouldn’t be this successful in school without all of them behind me. I thank God for all the opportunities and successes I have found here at Auburn.”
Walker maintained a 4.0 GPA in marketing while excelling on the beam in the gym, as she was named to the All-SEC team.
