Sports Illustrated is the latest media outlet to release its preseason top 25 rankings for the upcoming football season.
Auburn checked in at No. 2 in the poll released Wednesday, Aug. 5, trailing only the Ohio State Buckeyes, last year's national champions.
TCU, Notre Dame and Alabama complete the top five in the SI rankings.
Other SEC teams ranked in the report include Georgia at No. 11, Ole Miss at No. 13, Missouri at No. 20, Arkansas at No. 22, LSU at No. 23 and Mississippi State at No. 25.
Auburn will open the 2015 season against Louisville on Sept. 5 in the Georgia Dome.
