Conference basketball schedule released

The SEC men’s basketball schedule was released Wednesday, Aug. 19, ahead of coach Bruce Pearl’s second season as the head coach of the Auburn Tigers.

The Auburn men’s basketball team will open its conference play on national television for the first time in program history against Tennessee – Pearl’s former team – on Saturday, Jan. 2. The Tigers are 3-0 all time in home games televised games on CBS, where the game will air.

Auburn will play home-and-homes with Tennessee and Vanderbilt along with its common SEC foes Alabama, Georgia, and Ole Miss.

Other notable matchups include hosting perennial contender Kentucky on Jan. 16 on ESPN or ESPN2, at Florida on Jan. 23, and at home against LSU – who Auburn knocked out of the SEC Tournament in March – on Feb. 2 on one of the ESPN family of networks.

Senior Night is scheduled for a March 1 matchup against Texas A&M, where the Tigers will honor Cinmeon Bowers, Jordon Granger, Tyler Harris, Cole Stockton, and Jonathan Walker.
