A weekend of dominance concluded for the third-ranked Auburn Tigers with a 21-0 win over Indiana State on Sunday.
Auburn (15-1) went 4-0 during the Tiger Invitational, outscoring opponents 50-1. The game lasted five innings, resulting in Auburn's ninth run-rule win of the season.
The Tigers took control quickly against the Sycamores (3-5), jumping out to a 9-0 lead in the first inning and scoring the rest of their runs by the end of the third. Auburn had 22 hits — 19 of which came in the first three innings — while Indiana State had just two.
Auburn had five home runs in the contest, tying a season high. Kasey Cooper and Emily Carosone hit homers in the first inning. Jenna Abbott and Jade Rhodes followed suit in the second, and Courtney Shea hit her fifth home run of the season in the third inning.
Auburn's offense was powered by consistency, as the team's 21 runs came from 13 different batters.
Marcy Harper (5-1) earned the win, while Makayla Martin and Rachel Walters both played later in the game.
