The newest contender in Auburn's quarterback competition John Franklin III is taking on the big screen in July. The rising junior's tv time will eclipse the Jumbotron at Jordan Hare as his journey to Auburn via East Mississippi Community College will be showcased on Netflix this month.
Franklin spent last season at EMCC in Scooba, Mississippi, with a program that has won three JUCO national titles in the past five years. EMCC has recently become a destination for players whose careers did not go as planned at their FBS schools. Those players are the focus of an upcoming Netflix documentary series titled "Last Chance U" set to air in late July.
During his lone 2015 season as the quarterback in Scooba, Franklin served as one of the athletes in a two quarterback system. Franklin completed just over 58 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns, and rushed for 451 yards and nine scores.
Season 1 of "Last Chance U" can be seen on Netflix starting July 29. Check out the trailer below.
