Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tiger basketball program landed another five-star commit in EJ Montgomery on Thursday night. While Montgomery will not be a part of the No. 1 ranked 2017 Tiger recruiting class, he gives Pearl a solid foundation for the 2018 class.
In 2015 and 2016, Auburn has picked up at least one prospect ranked among the top 25 players in the country. Montgomery's commitment now adds to the list as the first of the 2018 class.
Montgomery, who plays with the Atlanta Celtics on the adidas Uprising circuit, took an unofficial visit to Auburn at the beginning of September. He met with all of the Auburn coaches, including his lead recruiter Chuck Person.
The 6-foot-10, 200-pound forward is slotted as the No. 6 power forward in 2018, and will add needed size to the Tiger backcourt.
