The SEC announced its annual preseason poll Thursday, and Auburn was picked to finish tied for last place in the Western Division with Alabama. The 14 SEC head coaches voted in the poll.
LSU was picked to win the West while Florida was selected to win the Eastern Division. LSU and Florida both received six SEC champion votes.
The Preseason All-SEC Teams were also announced Thursday. No Auburn players made either the First Team or Second Team. Florida led the conference with six players selected to the Preseason All-SEC Teams.
Auburn opens its 2017 season Friday, Feb. 17 as they host George Washington. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. CST Friday, followed by a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. CST. The series will wrap up Sunday at 12 p.m. CST.
