Another veteran defensive lineman has decided to return for another year with the Tigers.

Defensive lineman Marlon Davidson announced Tuesday via Twitter that he is returning for his senior season despite next-level hype.

Davidson joins fellow defensive lineman Derrick Brown, who also decided to return earlier this week, to ensure another season with a dominant defensive line for Auburn.

“The past three years at Auburn have been more then I could’ve imagine!" Davidson announced on Twitter. "From the fans, the coaches, my teammates and the lives I have been able to impact through the sport I love; I wouldn’t trade a moment of my experience as an Auburn Tiger for one second. As I reflected on my time at AU, trying to figure out what to do next, I realized that I just wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Auburn football and all that it means to put on #3 and battle in the SEC. After a lot of thinking, and praying, I will be returning to Auburn University to earn my degree and have one last dance! War Eagle!"

Davidson’s elite ability to stop the run and improvement getting to the quarterback has garnered the eyes of NFL scouts.

Davidson received feedback from the NFL saying he’d likely be drafted in the third-round range after his most impressive season to date.

The soon-to-be fourth-year starter compiled a career-high 46 tackles, 3.5 sacks and blocked a field goal in three straight games.

Davidson has battled through injuries the past two seasons that has impeded his full potential.

The announcement of Davidson’s return is the third for Auburn this offseason with Brown’s and Prince Tega Wanogho Jr. announcing already.

A position group that Auburn was expected to replace majority of its talent will likely only be without graduated seniors Dontavius Russell and Andrew Williams next season.
