Auburn police looking for missing Auburn University student

Police tape surrounds a crime scene.

The Auburn Police Division is looking for 21-year-old Auburn University student Chih-Kai Lai from Taiwan. 

Police describe Lai as an Asian male standing at 5-feet-6-inches tall with brown eyes, black hair. He is about 170 pounds and wears glasses.

Lai was reported missing on Monday, Aug. 19, to police. He last communicated with a family member on Saturday Aug. 17, according to a statement from police. 

Police believe Lai left on his own accord. There is no indication of foul play at this point, according to a statement from police.

Lai is a student in computer science and software engineering at Auburn University.  

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Lai is encouraged to contact the Auburn Police Division.
