After months of speculation and hype, Auburn fans have the answer to the question they've been wondering all offseason: Auburn's starting quarterback when the Tigers take the field against Oregon on August 31 will be Bo Nix.

Nix is the son of former Auburn quarterback Patrick Nix, who attended Auburn from 1992-95. Bo Nix, a true freshman, will be looking to add his name to the list of first-year Auburn QBs winning in their debut game.

Eleven Auburn freshmen have started at quarterback in school history and currently hold a combined 8-3 record in their debut. Excluding redshirt freshmen, true freshmen quarterbacks are 4-1, with the most recent true freshmen debut coming in 2013 with Jeremy Johnson when Nick Marshall was serving a suspension.

Nix beat out redshirt freshman Joey Gatewood for the starting job.
