On-campus residents to receive prorated refunds for housing

Students who were in University residence halls will be issued prorated refunds of their remaining housing fees for the spring semester, University Housing said in an email that was sent to residents and obtained by The Plainsman. The decision was made after Provost Bill Hardgrave announced remote instruction will continue for the rest of the semester.

The refund amount is based on what residence hall a student lived in, what type of unit their room was, the total 121 days in the spring semester and the 50 days the halls will be closed, the email said.

Prorated refunds will only be credited to students through direct deposit, according to the email. The process occurs once a week, and University Housing said it should take about five business days for the transaction to be completed.

These are the refund rates that will be issued to each student per their residence hall and unit type:
