Jeremiah Dinson, a three-year starting safety at Auburn, is continuing his football career in Detroit.

The Detroit Lions signed Dinson following the NFL draft as an undrafted free agent. The safety joins Noah Igbinoghene and Daniel Thomas who got drafted and Javaris Davis who also got picked up as a free agent, as all four former Auburn starters from the secondary got picked up by an NFL team.

Dinson suffered a knee injury his freshman year at Auburn and took the entire 2016 season off to recover from the injury. Once he returned from injury, Dinson took a leadership role among the defense as a starter in the secondary.

Through his final three seasons with the Tigers, Dinson amassed 199 total tackles, four interceptions and two fumbles forced. His senior season, he led Auburn’s defense in solo and total tackles with 57 and 88, respectively.

Jeremiah Dinson looks to be the next Auburn DB to make an active roster and earn a starting spot like Jonathan Jones and Neiko Thorpe.

Dinson is the second undrafted free agent from Auburn that Detroit signed today following former Auburn punter Arryn Siposs. Both look to join former Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson on the active roster in Detroit.
