The award watch list nominations keep rolling in for Auburn. Last week, the Tigers had D.J. Williams, K.J. Britt, Bo Nix and Seth Williams all on preseason award watch lists.
This week, Britt finds himself on another award watch list, earning a spot on the Butkus Award watch list. The award is given to the best linebacker in college football.
As a first-year starter in 2019, Britt finished with 69 total tackles and earned First Team All-SEC honors. Auburn has never had a linebacker win the Butkus Award since it began in 1985.
The award is named after Hall of Famer Dick Butkus, and since it began has expanded to high school and the NFL. Now the award is given to the best linebacker in high school, college and the NFL.
