On Monday, Auburn announced that Darren Uscher will serve as the program’s director of recruiting and player personnel.

“Our recruiting process is one that never stops and having a recruiting director like Darren who keeps the process continually moving and on track is extremely critical to the success of Auburn football,” Harsin said in a statement. “Darren brings the ability to be in the moment and develop relationships with prospects and their families, manage the recruiting needs of our staff, while also working a step or two ahead as a must for recruiting in today’s setting.”

Uscher previously served under Harsin as Boise State’s director of recruiting and personnel for five years but has worked at the university for seven.

As the director for recruiting and personnel, Uscher will oversee player personnel, roster management and all areas of recruiting.

He will also work with Auburn’s on-campus recruiting department and the Auburn athletics and staff compliance education departments.

“I’m extremely appreciative and grateful for the opportunity that Coach Harsin has given me over the years and especially now at a place like Auburn,” Uscher said. “To work at such a special place that’s rich in tradition like Auburn is both an honor and a privilege, and one that I don’t take lightly. The opportunity to be able to recruit talented young men of character and whose values align with the culture that Coach Harsin has established is extremely exciting. I look forward to helping bring the best young men into this program that we possibly can.”

Uscher began his career as an intern at South Carolina. He also interned in the ticket department for the NFL’s Washington Football Team and MLS’s D.C. United.

After interning at South Carolina, Uscher was hired on full time to serve as a marketing assistant for the university.

He also helped create and execute marketing plans for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and football while working at South Carolina.

Uscher moved on to serve as Georgetown University’s director of operations, video coordinator, and assistant recruiting coordinator. After working at Georgetown for a year, Uscher joined the Boise State staff as a football operations and recruiting coordinator in 2014.

In 2016, Uscher was promoted to director of recruiting and player personnel for Boise State athletics.
