Cam Newton will reportedly be returning to the New England Patriots with a one-year $14-million contract signed on Friday. The news was first reported by the Boston Globe's Jim McBride and later confirmed by multiple outlets.
The former NFL MVP spent nine seasons with the Carolina Panthers and then signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots after being released by the Panthers in 2020.
Newton played in 15 games in 2020 and finished the season with 2,657 passing yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions while rushing for 592 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The deal is reportedly worth up to $14 million, with nearly $6 million tied to incentives.
