Auburn receives commitment from transfer DB Bydarrius Knighten

Auburn is adding a veteran player to its secondary as transfer defensive back Bydarrius Knighten committed on Friday.

Knighten made his announcement on his Twitter.  

The Tunica, Mississippi, native spent the last five seasons at the FCS level at Southeast Missouri State. Knighten played for the Redhawks from 2016-20 but redshirted during the 2016 season.

During the 2020 season, Knighten played in all eight games for the Redhawks and finished the season with 27 solo tackles, 40 total tackles and one interception.

In 2018 and 2019, he earned All-OVC honors as he was named to the First Team in 2018 and was on the Second Team in 2019. Over his four-year career at Southeast Missouri State, Knighten finished with 262 total tackles, six interceptions and 23 pass deflections.
