After taking down Arkansas this past Saturday, Colby Wooden was named to the SEC’s Defensive Players of the Week list.
Wooden received the honor of Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week – sharing it with Georgia’s Jalen Carter.
Stopping Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson was a challenge that Auburn’s defense had to solve and Wooden rose to the occasion.
The redshirt sophomore accounted for four tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks and a quarterback hurry. His second sack of the game put Arkansas in a third-and-15 situation inside of its own 10-yard line. The next play Auburn stripped Jefferson resulting in a defensive touchdown where the Tigers seized momentum of the game.
Wooden now has 32 tackles, seven tackles for loss, four sacks, and one fumble recovery on the season.
Auburn has a bye week this Saturday – setting up a ranked matchup against No. 12 Ole Miss the following week. That game will take place at 6 p.m. CST in Auburn and will air on ESPN.
