Anders Carlson selected by Green Bay Packers with 207th overall pick

Anders Carlson became the fifth Auburn Tiger off the board in the 2023 NFL Draft, being selected by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round with the 207th overall pick. Carlson became the second Tiger to be taken by the Packers in this draft, joining Colby Wooden who was selected in the fourth round.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound kicker played in 56 games for Auburn from 2018-22, making 79 of the 110 field goals he attempted, a clip of 71.8%, and making extra points at a 173-of-176 rate, a 98.3% success rate.

Carlson, who came to Auburn from Colorado Springs, Colorado, joins his older brother in the NFL. Daniel Carlson, who was Auburn’s kicker from 2014-17, currently plays for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Carlson leaves the Plains as the second-highest scorer in Auburn history with 410 career points, only behind his brother’s 480-point mark.

Carlson’s past two seasons each ended with injury, as he tore his ACL against Mississippi State in 2021 and fractured his arm in 2022, also against the Bulldogs.

Carlson followed Derick Hall, Tank Bigsby, Colby Wooden and Owen Pappoe as Tigers selected in the NFL Draft.
