Auburn added to its tight end room with the commitment of former Maryland player Rico Walker. Walker comes to Auburn following his freshman season with the Terrapins.
In his lone season at Maryland, Walker caught four passes for 27 yards and played in eight games. The 6-foot-4-inch, 248-pound tight end is originally from Hickory, North Carolina.
The former 4-star recruit gives Auburn depth in the tight end room and has three seasons of eligibility remaining. He was rated as the No. 209 overall recruit out of high school by 247Sports and was the No. 12 athlete in the 2023 class.
Walker is Auburn’s fifth transfer of the 2024 class, joining receiver Robert Lewis, defensive lineman Gage Keys, linebacker Dorian Mausi and receiver Sam Jackson V.
