Roses are red, violets are blue, it’s Valentine’s Day, what does a girl got to do? No man, no worries.

Grab some girls and venture through Auburn to all the Galentine's events downtown has to offer. College is a time of building friendships that are forever and The Auburn Plainsman has all the single ladies' itinerary covered.

A new hot spot in Auburn, Sessions Cocktails, will host a Galentine's on Feb. 13, including half-price bottles of wine and rom-com bingo. Jo Stevens, general manager of Sessions explained why Sessions stands out as a bar in Auburn.

“Our niche is to create long-lasting friendships and create memories through quality cocktails and over-the-top hospitality,” Stevens said.

Stevens discussed that the purpose of Sessions as a bar is to "push you when you come in to make connections with our staff but also make connections with one another.”

Stevens said her favorite thing about hosting a Galentine's Day is appreciating the friendships around you.

“I think that that's even more important because going to college and ending up being friends with the people you live with, have classes with or go out with so it's fun to take the time to appreciate them, " Stevens said.

She discussed that Sessions' mission as a business is to get people outside of their homes and spend quality time with their friends.

The Laurel Hotel will kick off the celebrations with a glass of sparkling rose and unlimited picture opportunities in the photo booth on Feb. 13. They are also partnering with Beaded by Meg to sell matching custom jewelry. Indulge in the chefs' tapas menu and wear your best pink fit while overlooking incomparable views of the heart of Auburn. Tickets are $20 per person and the link to purchase is in their Instagram biography.

Wanting more of an activity? No worries, head down to Collegiate Hotel Galentine's cocktail-making class on Feb. 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and learn the basic steps to make a cocktail into a custom creation.

"This is our first Galantine's event and as a woman-owned business, I love to host events focused on women coming together in a fun and safe space'." said Kim Writh, owner of the Collegiate Hotel.

There will also be an opportunity to taste three popular crafted cocktails, snack on the grazing boards and get a free drink shaker.

"The Auburn AU BEES lab will be on-site with a honey tasting and we will be making honey simple syrups," Writh said

Tickets are $45 per person and the link is in Instagram biography to purchase tickets.

Dance your blues away all night long at Skybar’s Galantine's on Feb. 14, featuring a lineup filled with the queens of pop by DJ Sophie Vor, from heartbreak to heartbreaker. Tickets are $10 and available through the link in their Instagram biography

For a fun stay-at-home night in, throw on your favorite pink pajamas to snuggle up on the couch. Grab a heart nugget tray at Chick-fil-A, then stop by Insomnia for some dessert or Krispy Kreme for a late-night donut. Insomnia has heart-shaped cookie cakes for $29 or Krispy Kreme’s box of heart-shaped donuts for $18.

Pop open a bottle of bubbly and play some games with the gals. Target has a vast selection of different games from "For The Girls" to "Twister," that will keep everyone entertained for hours. Everyone can also purchase flowers and build bouquets at home.

Keeping it simple at home, skip the reservations and have a Galantine's pizza night. Everyone can bring a topping and a bottle of wine. Tell each friend to create a PowerPoint and everyone can have a different theme. Two popular themes seen on social media are the biggest red flags, or the worst dates ranked.

Lastly, check out the Botanics Petal and Pour Galantine's event on Feb. 13. Stacy Brown, the owner of Botanic explained why she loves this event.

“Over the years Galentine's has become a really popular event to celebrate because it’s fun to get together as girlfriends, any excuse to get together as girlfriends we will,” Brown said.

Brown gave further detail on what this event has to offer.

"Ladies will come in for a cocktail and get to mingle, make a flower bouquet and take it home,” she went on to talk about the opportunity to go sit in the beer garden and learn how to make Botanics' most popular cocktail from scratch.

Be sure to check out these events hosted in the heart of Auburn for a guaranteed good time celebrating the people we love.
