Auburn defensive lineman Marcus Harris was selected with the No. 247 pick in the seventh round of the NFL Draft by the Houston Texans — becoming the fifth Tiger to hear his name called today.
The defensive tackle enjoyed a five-year college career, with his first two seasons spent at Kansas before transferring to the Plains prior to the start of the 2021 season.
In three years at Auburn, Harris played in 37 games and tallied 97 total tackles, 23.5 tackles for a loss, 11 sacks and a touchdown.
Harris had a breakout performance during his senior season recording 40 tackles, 11 tackles-for-loss and seven sacks over his 12 appearances in 2023. Harris recorded a career-high seven tackles in a single game twice: once against Georgia and once against Ole Miss.

At the conclusion of the 2023 regular season, Harris was Pro Football Focus’s second-highest graded defender on the roster behind D.J. James, a sixth round selection by the Seattle Seahawks.
The Montgomery, Alabama native listed at 6-foot-2 and 286 pounds, ran a 5.06 second 40-yard dash and completed 27 bench press reps of 225 pounds at the NFL Combine.
The now former Auburn Tiger will join the Houston Texans who finished the 2023 season with a 10-7 record, won the AFC South and lost in the AFC Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs to the Baltimore Ravens.
