Auburn's annual A-Day game is set for Saturday as the Tigers' returnees and newcomers get the chance to hit the field in front of fans at Jordan-Hare Stadium for the first time in 2024.

“You hope for great weather for the fans, that we would be clean in our operations,” said head coach Hugh Freeze in a press conference previewing A-Day. “It’s right for everyone at Auburn, we’re going to make the best of it and go out and compete. We want to make it a competitive day. We don’t want to see flags over the field, that would irritate me. You’re hoping you just see good execution from each side. A lot of competition and taking pride in each snap and staying healthy.”

Following a 6-7 record in his first season at Auburn, Freeze looks to improve that record with a retooled team filled with newcomers. That starts this spring in preparing the roster for real game scenarios.

Auburn will have some newer faces on the field Saturday – here are a few that fans should keep a close eye on as A-Day approaches.

WHO TO WATCH:

Cam Coleman - WR

Coleman is one of the highest-touted freshman recruits that Freeze signed in this past recruiting cycle and has enrolled early in Auburn to be a part of spring football. He was a five-star recruit out of Phenix City, Alabama, and the No. 2 wide receiver in the class according to 247Sports. In his senior year of high school, he had 1,372 yards receiving on 61 receptions along with 18 touchdowns.

Rivaldo Fairweather - TE

Fairweather is entering his last season as an Auburn Tiger. He completed the 2023 season with 38 receptions for 394 yards and six touchdowns. He was a standout player in Auburn’s group of receivers and tight ends, leading the team in yards receiving, receptions and touchdowns. He’ll lead an experienced tight end room that also includes seniors Luke Deal and Brandon Frazier.

Hank Brown - QB

Brown, a true freshman from last season that ran the scout team, looks to make a move in the quarterback battle. He finished out the bowl game against Maryland last season on the team’s last two possessions, completing 7-of-9 pass attempts for 132 yards – including a 53-yard pass to Caleb Burton.

Derrick Nix - Offensive Coordinator

Nix was hired this past winter after Auburn’s passing attack ranked dead last in the SEC last season. Kent Austin was moved up to quarterback coach after serving as special assistant to the head coach last season.

The spring game will be broadcast on SECN+ on Saturday April, 6 at 1 p.m. CST.
