On Tuesday afternoon, local media got a glimpse of Auburn football’s preparation for game one against Alabama A&M as they observed periods three through six of practice. With the season fast approaching, here's a closer look at the latest developments on both sides of the ball, including standout performances and key rotations.

“Most of the defense was working on tackling or blocking drills in individual position groups during the third period. The defensive line was getting coached up by a vocal Vontrell King-Williams during a sled drill. Bobby Jamison-Travis was first to get reps followed by Jayson Jones, Philip Blidi, Isaiah Raikes and Gage Keys.
The linebackers worked on tracking down ball carriers and tackling them. The group’s rotation began with Eugene Asante and was followed by Dorian Mausi Jr., Fa’Najae Gouty, Robert Woodyard Jr., Demarcus Riddick and Austin Keys.
Period five saw the offense and defense facing off against each other and period six the units split into their respective sides of the ball for walk throughs.
Alex McPherson spent the practice kicking from yardages north of the 25-yard line in the indoor facility as he continues to ramp back up from his summer illness.”

"The running back rotation seen at practice looked consistent with what we have been seeing at fall camp. Senior running back Jarquez Hunter looked solid in drills ahead of what is projected to be a big season for the senior. His performance in practice continues to make his role as a key contributor in the backfield known."

"The offensive line group from left to right during 11 vs. 11 work consisted of Tyler Johnson, Dillon Wade, Connor Lew, Jeremiah Wright and Izavion Miller. Percy Lewis lined up at left tackle with the second group, which showed a few different looks. Braydn Joiner took some reps at center with the second group, flanked by Tate Johnson, Deandre Carter, and E.J. Harris at the guard spots. Ronan Chambers handled reps outside at right tackle.
Defensively, Austin Keys and Keionte Scott were fully participating, though Coach Freeze mentioned on Monday that they would be monitored throughout the week. Jerrin Thompson was at full speed but wore a yellow non-contact jersey.
The defensive line showed several different combinations for the first group. Philip Blidi, Jayson Jones, Tyler Carter, Quientrail Jamison-Travis and Isaiah Raikes rotated in the middle, with Jalen McLeod and Keyron Crawford at buck and Keldric Faulk on the end. Amaris Williams and Malik Blocton also saw time with the first group, highlighting the depth in this unit. A lot of these guys are expected to play significant snaps.”
