Downtown Opelika vandalized, more than $2,500 in damages

On Sept. 28, Opelika Police Department (OPD) responded to calls about graffiti in the downtown area. Over $2,500 in damages resulted, with buildings and vehicles being painted on.

Footage in the area shows four vandals: three men and one woman, in the area from 2:30 a.m. to 4:15 a.m. OPD has stated that these individuals were driving a white sedan, an orange sedan and a blue pickup truck.

As of Sept. 29, 2025, OPD has identified three of the four vandals. As of 4:00 p.m. that same day, OPD is looking for the remaining vandal, Dylan McIver Paulk. Paulk has a warrant out for his arrest for first-degree criminal mischief. 

On Sept. 30, 2025, OPD contacted Paulk and he was arrested on his warrant charges. He booked into the Lee County Justice Center.
