On Oct. 13, 2025, Auburn University reported a gas leak near the Gogue Performing Arts Center. The notice was sent out at 9:08 a.m. in an AU Alert, which provided instructions and more details about the leak.
According to the self-described "urgent" AU Alert, there is a present gas leak near the Gogue Performing Arts Center. The cause was an excavator that hit a main gas line.
Auburn Fire and Police Department are reportedly on the scene, and the road is closed from Woodfield to South College Street.
The AU Alert asks all to "[s]tay clear of the area."

Urgent AU Alert There is a gas leak near Gouge Performing Arts Center. An excavator hit a main gas line. The road is Closed from Woodfield to South College Street. Auburn Fire and Police Department on scene. Stay clear of the area.
Auburn University sent out a second AU Alert at 10:54 a.m. to announce the gas leak was resolved.
