1,500 lanterns will line the pathways of Pine Hill Cemetery on Oct. 19-20 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the biennial Pine Hill Cemetery Lantern Tour. For this historic walking tour through the cemetery, 100 volunteers will make the history of Auburn come alive through costumes and creativity.

In honor of the Halloween season, the annual Haunted Auburn Walking Tour is back for its 11th consecutive year. The tour takes place every Friday and Saturday of October – as well as Halloween night – at 8 p.m. Guests meet downtown across from Toomer’s Corner.

The annual Lee County Fair is back in town from Oct. 3-7 and is open each night from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The fair returns every year on the first Tuesday of October. Located at the fairgrounds in Opelika, the Lee County Fair first debuted in 1948.

Chewacla State Park celebrates the importance of bats and other Alabama-native animals with its new event, Bats and Boos, on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 6 p.m. to 8. p.m. The event aims to educate the public about the importance of bats and other small animals in Alabama with a Halloween theme.

In 1896, Sheldon Toomer brought an infamous fresh-squeezed lemonade recipe to the corner of Magnolia Avenue and College Street, Toomer's Corner, where the notorious paw print and Toomer's Oaks are found with a fresh layer of toilet paper snow, flowing in the wind after an Auburn victory.
