UPDATED: University responds to allegations

Former head Auburn baseball coach Sunny Golloway filed a complaint yesterday, May 24, against The Board of Trustees of Auburn University. Jay Jacobs, director of athletics; David Benedict, chief operating officer; Rich McGlynn, senior associate athletics director; Scott Duval, former director of baseball operations; and Jeremy Roberts, baseball administrator, are named in the lawsuit. Golloway was dismissed as head baseball coach in September with cause by Athletics Director Jay Jacobs.

Grier earns All-SEC honors

The Southeastern Conference announced its 2016 Baseball Awards and All-SEC Teams on Monday. Auburn's Anfernee Grier was the only Tiger to earn an honor, being named to the second All-SEC and All-Defensive teams. “I’ve been impressed with Anfernee since day one,” Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said.

Tigers drop game one of Vanderbilt double header

A strong offensive start for the Tigers was not enough to push them to victory in game one of Thursday’s double header in Nashville as they fell to Vanderbilt 5-2. The Tigers were without senior Jordan Ebert and junior Niko Buentello in game one after the two were benched due to a violation of team rules.

Jordan Ebert named to SEC Community Service Team

Auburn baseball's Jordan Ebert was named to the SEC Community Service Team once again, the conference announced Wednesday. The Foley, Alabama native volunteers through Auburn athletics and baseball to visit pediatric hospital patients and has participated in Walking Wednesday to support a local elementary school student battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia, enlisting support from teammates and coaching staff.

Listen up Auburn fans, although this season has seen its fair share of ups and downs, don’t count the Tigers out for years to come. The Tigers currently sit at the bottom of the SEC West with a 5-13 conference record and have an overall record of 18-22, but think about what this team has had to deal with.
