In 2009, Hans van der Reijden, managing director of hotel operations and educational initiatives at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center, implemented the Teddy Bear Tea after the opening of the hotel's Piccolo Lounge earlier that same year.

There are four residence halls that provide housing for students who choose to live on campus at Auburn University. The Quad, Hill, Village and the most recent addition, South Donahue, are the dormitory options given to these students. Students who are appointed to the Residence Life staff are hired for one academic year after being selected for their positions in the first half of spring semester.
In order for a team to attain success on the field, court or diamond, coaches and players must work to get there. That is not an exception for the Auburn women's basketball team. Aside from the coaches that support and teach the players, there is a group of men who help the basketball team perform on the court.
As the days become shorter and colder and classes become more difficult, the number of students in the gym drops. Summer Myrick, senior in communication disorders and Spanish, works as a group fitness instructor at the Recreation and Wellness Center. She teaches a U-Jam and a butts and guts group fitness class.
In Section 99 of the east upper deck of Jordan-Hare Stadium there is a new inhabitant: bats. The bats are most active at night and can be seen leaving their nest every day at sunset. It is typical for the bats to return back to their nests by 4 or 5 a.m.
Jakell Mitchell, redshirt football player and freshman in sociology, was the victim of a shooting at Tiger Lodge, early Sunday morning Dec. 14. This is not the first time Tiger Lodge, formerly known as University Heights, was the location of a shooting. Former football players Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips, and DeMario Pitts of Opelika were the victims of a shooting at the same complex June 9, 2012.
Auburn University held their fall graduation ceremony today in the Auburn Arena.
Former astronaut Jim Voss spoke to the graduating class of 2014 at Auburn University's fall graduation ceremonies at the Auburn Arena on Saturday, Dec. 13. Doctorates, masters and bachelor's degrees were awarded to 1,497 graduating students during two ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to Auburn University President Jay Gogue.
Jim Voss, 1972 graduate and former NASA astronaut, will be sharing a lifetime of wisdom and experience with the class of 2014 Saturday, Dec. 13.
"Pretty much I'll just be working to try to earn some extra money," Smith said. "My family lives here in Auburn. Every year my grandmother makes a breakfast casserole for the family Christmas morning."
The Auburn Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Christmas parade at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. Certain roads will be closed because of the parade.
